The BasicsQ: What type of file formats do you accept?A: We accept the following mac or pc version desktop design formats: Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and QuarkXpress. We also accept the following file formats: TIFF, EPS, JPEG, PDF. We do accept files created using Microsoft desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, or Microsoft Publisher, but we will have to convert or recreate the files to a print friendly working applications such as the applications stated above. The fee is charged per hour. Q: What resolution should my graphics file(s) be set at? A: For best printing results, please make sure that your image files have a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) or greater. Q: What is the difference between the RGB and CMYK color format? A: RGB refers to the primary colors of light, Red, Green and Blue. RGB is the standard format used for video monitors, television screens, digital cameras and scanners. CMYK refers to the primary colors of pigment, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. These are the ink colors used in “4-color process printing”, commonly referred to as “full color printing.” RGB and CMYK color formats are not compatible and will not produce exact color results. Q: What are “bleeds”, and why do I have to set them? A: If the artwork image extends to the edge of the trim size, it is desirable to have the color extend or “bleed” over this edge. This prevents the finished product from showing white on the trimmed edges. Q: What if there is a mistake in the artwork? A: As a customer, you are responsible for the accuracy of your artwork. You are encouraged to carefully inspect the positioning, copy, and design elements in your art files before submitting them to us. File Transfer ProtocolQ: How long will it take to upload my files?A: Upload time will vary depending on your file size and the speed of your Internet connection. Uploads can be as short as a few seconds or as long as an hour. If you are concerned about the size of your file or the speed of your Internet connection, we recommend that you send your artwork to us on a CD. PaymentsQ: What methods of payment do you accept?A: For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. ShippingQ: How will my order be shipped?A: Our common carrier of choice is UPS. Q: How much do you charge for shipping and handling? A: Shipping and handling charges vary on a product by product basis and preferred shipping method, whether that be overnight, two day, three day or standard ground. CancellationsQ: How do I make changes or cancel my order(s)?A: Changes can be made before the signing of proof. Once proof is signed, production has commenced, no changes and/or cancellations can be made. A fee for work completed, based on the contract price and expenses already incurred, shall be paid by the client. There are limitations as to what types of changes can be made prior to production without incurring additional charges. Our ProductQ: Will you match a sample I print out on my own printer, or a previously printed sample?A: Part of the way we offer fast turnaround and low pricing is by printing to a “pleasing color” standard, using standard ink densities. Therefore, there is no guarantee that your finished piece will approximate your printed sample. This is due to the wide variations in color spaces, technologies, and calibrations of different displays and printing devices. Even from one commercial printing company to another, there can be significant differences in results. Q: How well will my job match what I see on my monitor? A: Due to the wide variance in monitor calibrations, and more specifically, the incompatibility of the video (RGB) and commercial printing (CYMK) formats, printed colors typically do not exactly match the colors on any specific monitor. Q: Will I always receive the exact quantity that I ordered? A: Printing industry trade standards allow for an over/under tolerance of up to 10%. If you plan to send your print order to a mailing house or need a guaranteed quantity, we recommend that you order the next available quantity. Q: When can I expect my order to be ready? A: Estimated turnaround time for standard full color “combo” print order(s) is approximately five to seven business days without including weekends, holidays or shipping time. For non standard or specialty order(s), that require bindery (score, numbering, die cutting, gluing, etc.) please allow an additional day for each process.
